At Least 10 Multiplayer Maps Announced

The Halo Waypoint website posted this image which details what is included with the shipment of Halo 4.

The image reads:

The epic campaign and Halo Infinity Multiplayer including 10 War Games maps and Spartan Ops

Frankie’s Response

Ten maps might sound a bit low, but in response to a question on Neogaf, Frankie clarifies that the ten are “only referring to non-forge maps/environments”

 

 

Does this mean we can expect another forge world similar to Halo Reach’s? Reach multiplayer included dozens of custom forge maps making the gameplay stay fresh over the months.

The only downfall to the forge maps in Reach is that since all the maps had similar environments and colors, new forge maps became mundane. It is unclear for now what is in store for Halo 4 forge, but by Frankie’s response we know that they are again making map forging a large part of multiplayer.

Previously announced were the 9 DLC maps that are set to be released in the months following the release of Halo 4.

      Don’t worry just yet, for all we know the forge mode is 10x better than Reach’s map variability.

        How do you know about Halo 4′s Forge compared to Reach Tim?

          I do not know how the forge mode will be, but since it has not been announced I don’t want to count out those forge maps. I was saying that I would hope they improved on Reach’s forge, making for better maps.

    Hi Tim, I don’t know why, but I have a feeling that you are father,either by your name, or the way you write in such a mature manner. Just out of curiosity, how old are you? (I am guessing late 30ies or early 40ies)

      Haha, thank you for your kind words, but I am actually 20 years old. Currently I just finished my sophomore year in college.

      Hmm, maybe they will require you to download the forged maps?

    it would be interesting not to mention bad ass if they brought back forge world but with many worlds, just to keep it fresh, like a ice map, forest, desert and so on. the thing with forge in reach was that there was only on map to forge, yeah u could add a few rocks here and there to other maps like sphere but it wasn’t good enough.

    could u imagine if they allowed you to chose the map type (like snow, sand) and then add anything, like trees, and pre made building structures.

    i’ll just keep dreaming on

      funny you mention that, cause I actually thought that the only way they could actually improve on forge was by doing that. Not giving you metallic parts only, but giving you an array of options that you end up actually creating a map that looks almost like any other map….now that…would be awesome.

      they do have pre made building structures in reach.. it would be cool to have like switches to open doors or like hydraulic parts so you can build elevators like on LBP.. theres alot of cool things you could do to make forge better.. can’t wait to see what they come up with..

    I guess Halo: Reach’s forge was dull because of all the same colors of each structure, but besides that i think it was great.
